Kanungu, Uganda | October 3, 2025 — The People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) yesterday took a decisive step in its expansion drive across Kigezi sub-region with the launch of its campaign program in Kanungu District.

The event, hosted by Hon. Benedicto Niwamanya, The PFF candidate for kinkizi East was graced by the Governor of Kigezi Federal State, Hon. Turyamuhweza Fred, who called on candidates and supporters to focus on building a society anchored on freedom, transparency, and accountability.
Speaking during the briefing session with candidates vying at different political levels, Turyamuhweza stressed that corruption and poor governance remain the greatest obstacles to development in the region.
> “The attainment of freedom in Kanungu and across Kigezi will only be meaningful if leaders put honesty and service above self-interest. Our mission is to intensify the fight against corruption and bad governance,” he said.

The day’s program concluded with the official opening of the PFF Kanungu District offices located in Kanungu Town Council. According to Hon. Niwamanya, the new office will serve as a central hub for mobilization, coordination, and citizen engagement.
> “From here, the people of Kanungu will not only find representation but also a platform to express their concerns and shape the future of governance,” Niwamanya told supporters.

The launch drew a sizable crowd of residents, many of whom voiced optimism that PFF’s agenda will help address the long-standing issues of poor service delivery and mismanagement of public resources in the district.
