Kanungu District — Counsel Esther Majambere has for the second consecutive year supported Primary Seven (P7) leavers in Kanungu District, reaffirming her commitment to education and inclusive community development beyond electoral politics.

The initiative saw the donation of mattresses to P7 leavers, benefiting over 600 pupils who attained first-grade results, as well as all learners with disabilities (PWDs) regardless of their academic performance. The support aims to ease the transition to secondary education, particularly for learners joining boarding schools.
The exercise was witnessed by all education department leaders in Kanungu, including the Inspector of Schools, Mr. Tuishime Elasmus, alongside head teachers and local leaders, giving official recognition to the initiative.

In addition, Majambere sponsored a full secondary school bursary for Namaganda Rose, a former pupil of Bright Future Primary School, who scored four aggregates in the Primary Leaving Examinations.
Community leaders noted that Majambere first launched the initiative last year and has continued it this year, demonstrating consistency in service despite not having won the previous election.
Education officials and parents praised the gesture, saying it complements government efforts to promote access to education and supports vulnerable learners.

Observers say the continued support highlights that leadership and development extend beyond political office, with education remaining a key pillar of Kanungu’s future.
