President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has launched “Yoweri”, a vibrant music album produced by the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), pledging increased government support to the creative industry.

The grand event, held at Speke Resort Munyonyo, brought together artists, cultural leaders, and officials from across the country. The album, composed in multiple indigenous languages, reflects Uganda’s cultural diversity and unity.
“The music is very good, I like it. This is a gold mine, and I shall support it,” the President said, commending the artists for their creativity and dedication. He emphasized that with peace and stability secured, government is now able to channel resources into uplifting the arts and cultural sectors.

President Museveni assured musicians of continued government support, saying, “Even if you want 20 or 30 billion, we shall support you.” He noted that the creative industry has the potential to create jobs, strengthen national identity, and promote Uganda internationally.
UNMF President Eddy Kenzo (Edrisa Musuza) expressed gratitude to the Head of State for his consistent support. He highlighted government’s role in establishing regional studios, common user facilities, and empowering musicians through their SACCO.

“The Yoweri album is our gesture of appreciation to Your Excellency,” Kenzo said, reaffirming the federation’s commitment to professionalism and unity among artists.
The occasion was marked with entertainment, speeches, and even a light-hearted moment when the President joined in with a rap verse, which excited the audience and demonstrated his connection with young people.

This launch builds on President Museveni’s previous efforts to preserve and promote Uganda’s culture, following the unveiling of the “Omufunga Eizooba” traditional music album in 2022 and the “Museveni Awooma” album in 2023.
As Uganda’s creative sector continues to grow, the President’s message was clear: government will stand firmly with artists, ensuring that music and culture remain pillars of unity, pride, and economic transformation.
