“A dark Tuesday” , Moses Byamugisha recounts the painful arrest of his closest ally Sam mugumya

  1. On that fateful day of Tuesday 26th August 2025 of his arrest, Comrade Mugumya woke up and prepared himself to travel to Kampala.
Sam Mugumya

‎He informed his host that he was going to first meet a friend over breakfast at NIM Hotel before boarding the bus.

‎Afew moments after he had left, two gentlemen came to Sam’s residence and informed the host that Sam had sent them to pick his phone. The two men were carrying walking sticks something that scared the host and the host shut the door of the house at once terrified.

‎The two gentlemen went back and picked Mugumya Sam who was now already in handcuffs from the waiting drone minibus and it was Mugumya who asked the host to open the house. The host opened and the entire group including three uniformed military people (One of them armed) plus two others holding sticks entered the house and directed Mugumya to pack all his belongings, something that was difficult because Sam was in handcuffs. The people involved in the operation were very specific on the items they wanted, demanding that Mugumya should surrender his Samsung Smart phone.

Mugumya

‎As all this was happening, there was a waiting vehicle (drone silver in color) with private new Ugandan number plates which was parked outside the residence while all this was happening and there were uniformed military people standing at its entrance.

‎This whole operation happened in full glare of the public and a number of eye witnesses.

‎After they finished everything, one of them made a call to an unknown person saying, “Oba hati mutware nkahi”? And after this, the van left with the entire team.

‎Its scary that criminals now have the courage to impersonate our security agencies, put on their uniform and even carry guns in broad daylight thereby tarnishing the image of our good army. Like the court directed yesterday, let the IGP investigate this issue so that Sam gets justice.

God take the wheel, Moses concluded
